Pepsi has patented an innovative scented cap that it intends to use for its soda and other beverages. Dismayed by the scent of the plastic packaging, Pepsico sought a way for consumers to immediately experience the smell of the product rather than the not-so-pleasant plastic smell. Their solution uses scent capsules encased in the cap. When the consumer opens the cap, the scent capsules release the corresponding beverage product scent, enhancing the overall consumption experience.
